Watch live: Trump holds joint press conference with Spanish PM Rajoy

President Trump will hold a joint press conference Tuesday afternoon with Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy.

Trump and Rajoy are also scheduled to meet this afternoon for a working luncheon. Rajoy arrived in the United States on Monday. 

Rajoy’s White House visit marks his first bilateral visit to Washington since January 2014. 

Trump spoke with Rajoy over the phone last month to offer condolences and aide following a deadly terrorist attack in Barcelona, Spain. A van rammed into dozens of people in a popular pedestrian area of the city.

The two also spoke after Trump won the election in November, and in February to discuss fighting terrorism and the two nations’ commitment to NATO.
