President Trump is set to deliver remarks at a roundtable discussion focused on immigration on Wednesday afternoon.

The discussion comes as moderate Republicans in the House of Representatives inch closer to gathering the needed signatures on a discharge petition to force a vote on several immigration measures ahead of the 2018 midterm elections.

The White House has urged Congress to work on an immigration overhaul that addresses what it calls its four “pillars” of immigration reform: securing the border; limiting family sponsorships; ending the diversity visa lottery program; and providing legal status for recipients of the Obama-era Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.

The president’s remarks are scheduled for 2 p.m.
