Watch live: Biden announces picks for top Justice posts

President-elect Joe Biden is set to speak in Delaware on Thursday afternoon to announce his picks for top posts at the Justice Department.

Biden has selected Merrick Garland, chief judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, to serve as his U.S. attorney general.

Garland was former President Obama’s nominee in 2016 to the Supreme Court to replace the late Justice Antonin Scalia, but he was never given a hearing in the Senate.

Biden is scheduled to speak at 1:30 p.m.
