Carney: I know ‘for a fact’ Obama never considered replacing Biden
White House press secretary Jay Carney said he knows for a fact President Obama never considered replacing Vice President Biden with Hillary Clinton on the 2012 ticket.
“What matters here is I know for a fact that president Obama never considered this, never thought about it, never entertained it,” Carney said on CNN’s “New Day.” “The vice president has been a partner of his from the 2008 campaign. He has been an excellent governing partner and an excellent campaign partner.”
{mosads}Carney said campaigns test everything, but he said that the proposition of replacing Biden was never “seriously” considered.
“Campaigns are filled with emotion and ups and downs and highs and lows,” he said. “When it comes to this particular issues: Do campaigns test things? The answer is yes. But that doesn’t mean they were seriously considered or in this case even entertained by the president.”
