CMA hosts crack ObamaCare jokes
Country Music Association awards show hosts Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley kicked off the Wednesday night ceremony on ABC with a dubious duet on an unexpected topic: ObamaCare.
{mosads}During their opening number for the 47th annual awards shindig, the country music chart toppers poked fun at the highly-publicized technical issues plaguing the healthcare coverage website.
“Hey, do you have that ObamaCare?” Underwood asked Paisley, to wild laughter from the audience.
“It’s great,” the “American Idol” alum said, “I started signing up last Thursday and I’m almost done.”
After the pair pulled out a laptop and noted the website was “spinning” and “smoking,” they began belting out a play on the 1983 George Strait song, “Amarillo by Morning.”
“ObamaCare by morning, why’s this taking so long?” they crooned, as the camera cut away to a smiling Strait.
“I’m going to end up with hemorrhoids, if I sit here till dawn,” they continued.
“We’ll have cataracts and dementia, oh this is getting on my last nerve. ObamaCare by morning, over six people served.”
