‘Duck Dynasty’ star backs pal in race

Willie Robertson of “Duck Dynasty” is dipping his toes in the political waters by endorsing Vance McAllister in a Louisiana House race.

In the ad posted Wednesday on YouTube, the bandana-wearing A&E reality star says, “Hey, this is Willie Robertson, reminding you to get out Saturday, Nov. 16 and vote for my good buddy, Vance McAllister. Let’s send somebody from the 5th District who speaks for us to help turn Washington around.”

McAllister faces Republican state Sen. Neil Riser in a weekend special election to replace former Rep. Rodney Alexander (R-La.), who retired earlier this year.

{mosads}Robertson has refused to put to rest talk that he might be eyeing a congressional run himself.

“I never rule anything out,” he told ITK last month when we asked about the possibility of him making a run for political office.

“I like staying involved in politics and trying to help shape things,” the 41-year-old owner of Duck Commander said.
