Kanye: Obama lacks connections
Despite a public pledge not to mention him, Kanye West is talking about President Obama once again.
In a radio interview earlier this month, the “Yeezus” rapper — whom Obama once famously referred to as a “jackass,” — said, “I’m not gonna mention him no more, I’m past that.”
{mosads}But in a wide-ranging chat Tuesday with New York radio station Power 105.1, West brought up the commander in chief’s name yet again, during a long-winded diatribe on race and politics.
“Man, let me tell you something about George Bush and oil money, and Obama and no money,” West said.
“People want to say Obama can’t make these moves or he’s not executing. That’s because he ain’t got those connections. Black people don’t have the same level of connections as Jewish people. Black people don’t have the same connection as oil people. You know we don’t know nobody that got a nice house,” the controversial entertainer declared.
West, who’s engaged to reality star Kim Kardashian, also contended he wasn’t “denouncing” the president or Michelle Obama when he said last month that his fiancée should grace the cover of Vogue magazine instead of the first lady. “No one is looking at what Obama is wearing,” he said at the time.
On Tuesday, when one of the disc jockeys interviewing him questioned whether West was denouncing the first family with the remark, he replied, “I didn’t denounce him … I said we’re more relevant. Don’t nobody care about what Obama [is] wearing.”
