Beck: I helped tear the country apart
Glenn Beck on Tuesday said he helped tear the country apart during his stint as a Fox News host.
Beck, who left the network in 2011 to form his own Internet channel, said he wished he spent more time uniting his American viewers instead of dividing them.
“I made an awful lot of mistakes,” Beck said on Fox News’s “The Kelly File.” “I wish I could go back and be more uniting in my language, because I think I played a role in helping tear the country apart.”
{mosads}Beck created controversy in April, when he said he left the network to “save his soul.” But on Tuesday, Beck said he didn’t realize how his show affected others, not just himself.
“I didn’t realize how fragile the people were,” Beck said. “I thought we were kind of a little more in it together.
And now I look back, and I realize if we could have talked about uniting principles a little bit more, instead of just the problems, I think I would look back on [my time at Fox News] more fondly.”
