First lady, Will Ferrell conduct ‘Let’s Move’ ‘focus group’
Comedian Will Ferrell joined Michelle Obama for a children’s focus group on fruits and vegetables posted to the White House’s YouTube channel, the latest in a series of celebrity appearances to promote the fourth anniversary of the “Let’s Move” initiative.
In the video, Ferrell and the children respond to questions posed by the first lady about their diets, with the former “Saturday Night Live” star asking if diet cola can be classified as a vegetable and whether he could follow a week of sound eating by gorging on candy for a day.
{mosads}Last week, the first lady and Ferrell appeared together on “The Tonight Show” with Jimmy Fallon for a sketch on nutrition. Fallon and Ferrell, dressed in drag as teenage girls, danced with the first lady after hearing about the nutritional benefits of healthy snacks like kale chips.
Obama will partner with another “Saturday Night Live” alum, Amy Poehler, at an event in Florida later Tuesday. The first lady will announce a commitment by the Boys and Girls Club, and National Recreation and Park Association to a new recreation program for kids.
