Fallon mocks Putin, Obama tension
Late-night host Jimmy Fallon on Thursday mocked the escalating tension between Russian President Vladimir Putin and President Obama with a skit featuring celebrity mediator Dr. Phil.
Dr. Phil sat down with a fake Obama, played by comedian Dion Flynn, and a faux Putin, played by Fallon, to help the two men settle their differences.
“Things between you two, let’s just say they’ve been chilly,” Dr. Phil said.
The phony Obama said he has tried to reach Putin via text message, but he never answers.
{mosads}”You know I’m spying on you, I know you read that message three days ago,” the fake Obama said.
Fallon’s Putin character admitted he’s been too busy to respond because of his “Game of Thrones” addiction. He quickly clarified that statement, saying he was referring to his political power, not the hit TV show.
He also joked that Obama has been trying to “get through” to him but failed, much like the Americans who couldn’t get through the glitchy HealthCare.gov website to enroll in ObamaCare.
Dr. Phil eventually got the two to reach an accord after encouraging them to find their innocent inner child.
The two took up on the offer and joined together sang the Toys R Us theme song before ending the segment with a group hug.
