Hispanic Dems differ on immigration order
Two Hispanic Democratic lawmakers have differing positions on President Obama’s immigration order announced on Thursday night.
Reps. Luis Gutiérrez (D-Ill.) and Henry Cuellar (D-Texas) weighed in on the impact that the president’s action would have on congressional consideration of immigration reform next year.
{mosads}In separate one-on-one interviews with The Hill, each lawmaker expressed varying degrees of support for the president’s order; Gutiérrez said he believed it would serve as a challenge for the House to implement reform, while Cuellar had a more reserved view.
