Leader of Iran letter to address Senate
Freshman Senator Tom Cotton will give his first speech on the Senate floor Monday night, capping a whirlwind of publicity that began last week with his work on the GOP’s open letter to Iran.
The Arkansas Republican will discuss the defense budget in his maiden floor speech but may also use the stage to press the case against the Obama administration’s pursuit of a nuclear deal with Tehran, with the deadline for an initial agreement looming later this month.
Cotton will be the sixth freshman senator to deliver remarks on the Senate floor this year. The Hill’s Molly Hooper has more on the senator’s big moment.
