Iran talks: Who wants what

The Obama administration is continuing talks with Iran on Wednesday, trying to reach a deal to limit the country’s nuclear program in exchange for easing economic sanctions.

State Department spokeswoman Marie Harf on Tuesday said there are still issues to be resolved in the talks, which have slipped past March 31 deadline for reaching a framework.

{mosads}The potential deal has divided Congress, with the GOP warning that Iran is too dangerous to negotiate with. Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) spearheaded a letter to Iran on March 9 stating that Congress has the power to oppose any deal the Obama administration makes.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu added fuel to the fire when he spoke to Congress in early March to support the GOP’s argument that Iran is too much of a global threat to soften sanctions.
