Seth Myers mocks media coverage of Warren

Seth Meyers is poking fun at the media’s “need to incessantly ask” Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) whether or not she’s running for president.

The NBC “Late Night” host debuted a new segment on Wednesday dubbed “Will They or Won’t They?”

{mosads}“Now Warren has been very hard to pin down in regards to her 2016 intentions. Here’s her being her usual evasive self on yesterday’s ‘Today’ show,” Meyers said to the camera.

The comic then showed a clip of Warren telling host Savannah Guthrie, “I’m not running and I’m not going to run.”

“Vague much?” Meyers deadpanned, before showing Warren telling journalist after journalist in various television interviews that she won’t be making a White House bid.

“While I appreciate the media’s need to incessantly ask these questions, we have to remember that just because someone’s a politician doesn’t mean we can’t take them at their word,” Meyers concluded.

He then showed a 2006 “Meet the Press” clip of then-Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) responding to a question from moderator Tim Russert about whether he would run for president or vice president in 2008. “I will not,” Obama said.

“All right, you have to keep asking them,” a straight-faced Meyers said. “You have to ask them all the time.”
