Boehner presses for Iran details

Speaker John Boehner put the White House on notice Monday that “there’s a lot left to talk about” when it comes to the Iran deal announced last week.

The Ohio Republican posted a picture that showed him talking on his BlackBerry with President Obama about the deal, The Hill’s Molly Hooper reports.

{mosads}Boehner offered few details of the conversation. “The call was pretty straightforward. He briefed me, walked me through it. I shared some of my concerns and thanked him for calling.”

The Speaker, who is back in the United States following a weeklong congressional fact-finding trip in the Middle East, wrote that, “in the weeks ahead, Republicans and Democrats in Congress will continue to press this administration on the details” of the Iran agreement.

On Monday, Obama launched a full-court press to win public support for deal between the U.S., allies and Iran to restrict the Islamic republic’s nuclear program.
