WATCH: Oprah gets left in the dark
A D.C. power outage left Oprah Winfrey in the dark on Tuesday as the she gave a speech honoring Maya Angelou.
{mosads}Winfrey was speaking at the Warner Theatre in Washington for a ceremony to dedicate a stamp honoring Angelou when the lights cut out.
As darkness engulfed the room, Winfrey carried on, calling Angelou a “phenomenal woman” as the audience applauded.
The outage affected multiple buildings in Washington and southern Maryland, and electricity provider Pepco said the cause of the outage is still being investigated.
