The Hillary Clinton wristwatch

A member of the British Parliament has a wristwatch dedicated to Hillary Clinton — complete with her picture — and says the 2016 Democratic presidential candidate’s reaction to it nearly created a security scare.

Addressing the House of Commons on Wednesday, Simon Burns recalled a face-to-face meeting he had with Clinton, which was arranged by his former colleague, William Hague.

{mosads}“Towards the end of the meeting, William grabbed my arm, pulled up my jacket sleeve, and thrust my wrist in front of our prestigious American guest,” Burns said.

“It soon became clear that he was attempting to show Hillary my watch, which features a picture of her on the face of it,” Burns exclaimed.

“Hillary looked at it and literally screamed with laughter. Although I knew it was laughter, her Secret Service protection officers were not so sure. They immediately stepped forward, and one of them was heard to mutter, ‘What the hell’s he done to her?’ ”

Despite his timely ode to the former secretary of State — one of several Democrats Burns has campaigned for over the years — the British politician quipped Clinton isn’t exactly seeking out his support this time around.

“Hillary got wind of my desire to help her 2016 presidential campaign,” Burns said, claiming she said to Hague: “He worked for [George] McGovern’s campaign in ‘72 and he lost. He worked for Ted Kennedy’s campaign in 1980, and he lost. He worked for Kathleen Kennedy Townsend’s campaign in 2002, and she lost. And he worked for my campaign in 2008, and I lost.”

“For goodness sake,” Burns said Clinton pleaded, “please find something, anything else to do away from the United States in 2016.”
