Dalai Lama: Obama looks like a ‘monk’

The Dalai Lama says President Obama looks like a “monk” — and he’s even told the commander in chief so.

Asked by Larry King on his Ora.tv show “PoliticKING” to give his thoughts on Obama, the Dalai Lama immediately responds, “Oh, nice.”

{mosads}In the episode airing Tuesday, the Dalai Lama describes getting some one-on-one time with the president on a few occasions. “Since first meeting, you see, I sort of jokingly express his sort of appearance looks like a monk,” he said.

Mentioning Obama’s short hair and then motioning to his own ears, the Dalai Lama declared with a smile, “Yes, a dignified monk, like that. I love him.”

Obama has called the Tibetan religious leader a “good friend” and a “powerful example of what it means to practice compassion.”
