WATCH: Sen. Paul impersonates Trump
Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) offered his best Donald Trump impression during a town-hall meeting on Wednesday, slamming Trump for his controversial remarks that have drawn so much attention.
{mosads}Speaking at a campaign stop in Nashua, N.H., Paul mimicked Trump and compared his style to reality TV.
“I’m all for levity, I’m all for humor. But I think reality TV and the presidential election should be separate,” Paul said.
Changing his voice in an attempt to imitate Trump, Paul chided Trump for his remarks on women.
“My favorite is, ‘Yeah the reason I tell women they’re ugly is because I’m so good looking,’ ” Paul said as the audience broke into laughter. “Or another one is, ‘You know, I must be smart … I’m rich.’ “
Paul said that Trump has yet to make clear whether he is for a bigger or smaller government, or if he wants taxes to be higher or lower.
The Kentucky senator said there must be a debate on these views, but said Trump, instead, just shuts discussions down with “profound” phrases like, “you’re stupid, you’re fired, you’re a pig, you look terrible, you only have half of a brain.”
Paul’s comments come after his camp released a video attacking Trump for being supportive of Democratic polices and for comments he made about admiring Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.
Trump later said in a statement to The Washington Post that Paul has “no chance” of winning the White House.
The two also squabbled during last Thursday’s GOP debate, after Trump was asked about his past support for a single-payer healthcare system, and Paul said the Republican Party has fought against that health system for a decade.
Trump fired back at Paul, saying he misheard him and told Paul, “you’re having a hard time tonight.”
