{mosads}President Obama secured enough votes to preserve the deal this week after Sen. Barbara Mikulski (D-Md.) announced her support for the agreement. But Republican leaders are forging ahead with votes to disapprove of the deal in the House and Senate.
On their second day back on Capitol Hill, lawmakers will also examine Planned Parenthood’s abortion practices in a hearing of the House Judiciary Committee
Though Republicans are pushing to defund Planned Parenthood, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) has said such an action will have to wait until President Obama is no longer in the White House.
