Melania Trump: CNBC moderators simply ‘doing their job’
Melania Trump says CNBC’s moderators, who were widely criticized for their handling of the network’s GOP presidential debate, were simply “doing their job” on Wednesday.
“Just keep tough, and smart, and keep going,” the wife of Republican front-runner Donald Trump told “Extra’s” A.J. Calloway when asked if the moderators were “unfair or hard.”
{mosads}Some of the candidates themselves, as well as hoards of social media users, skewered CNBC and moderators Carl Quintanilla, Becky Quick and John Harwood during the economic debate in Boulder, Colo. Shortly after the debate wrapped up, Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus released a statement saying CNBC “should be ashamed” of how it was handled.
But Melania Trump, in her first on-camera interview on the campaign trail, gave her husband high marks during the showdown between the White House hopefuls.
“He did a fantastic job,” Trump told “Extra.”
