WATCH: Dem rep presses Ryan for Muhammad Ali vote

The chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) says he pressed Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) to allow a vote on a resolution honoring the life of Muhammad Ali.

Despite the House practice to only honor heads of state, Chairman G.K. Butterfield tells The Hill’s Molly K. Hooper that he spoke to Ryan this week asking the Speaker to “go back to his office and see if he can figure out a way to make this resolution in order because it has a lot of co-sponsors, and Muhammad Ali is unique.”

Watch the video about to hear Butterfield describe the effort.
