A GOP lawmaker tells The Hill that the families of 9/11 victims should sue the government of Saudi Arabia now that Congress has overridden President Obama’s veto of the Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act (JASTA.)
“Families have the ability to take legal action against the Saudi government, and I think they should do it,” Rep. Walter Jones (R-N.C.) tells The Hill’s Molly K. Hooper in a Wednesday interview.
{mosads}Jones, who fought to declassify 28 pages of Congress’s 9/11 report related to Saudi Arabia, says JASTA allows victims’ families to “start the process” of suing Saudi government officials for possible involvement in the 2001 terror attacks.
