WATCH: Chaffetz says FBI review not politically motivated
House Oversight Committee Chairman Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) says the inspector general review into the FBI’s handling of its investigation into Hillary Clinton’s email use is not motivated by politics.
{mosads}”I don’t think it’s politically motivated; I do think there are legitimate questions, by Democrats and Republicans as well, that should be answered,” Chaffetz said in an interview with The Hill’s Molly K. Hooper.
The Justice Department’s IG on Thursday said it is investigating how Justice and the FBI handled the Clinton investigation during the run-up to the election.
Asked who was behind the IG review, Chaffetz said “there were a number of people” who had asked for it, “from Senator [Chuck] Grassley [R-Iowa] to [Rep.] Elijah Cummings [D-Md.], and I’m very supportive of it.”
