Chaffetz may subpoena ethics chief
House Oversight Committee Chairman Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) says he may subpoena the director of the Office of Government Ethics if he refuses to appear for an interview.
{mosads}”I will move to compel if we have to but it shouldn’t come to that,” Chaffetz told The Hill of his efforts to get Walter Shaub for an interview.
Chaffetz criticized Shaub for calling incoming President-elect Donald Trump’s plan to put his children in charge of his business “meaningless.”
“He seems to be going to extraordinary lengths to comment on things he hasn’t even reviewed,” Chaffetz said, calling Shaub “an Obama donor.”
