Alexander: Sebelius must resign

Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) demanded Tuesday that Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius resign over failures of the healthcare exchange website.

“It is time for the president to ask the Secretary of Health and Human Services to resign,” Alexander said. “At some point, there has to be accountability.”

{mosads}Alexander said he was going to ask unanimous consent later Tuesday to pass his six-page bill that would require the administration to provide weekly reports to Congress about enrollment under ObamaCare.

His remarks came after Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) cited polls that say only 12 percent of the public believes the HealthCare.gov rollout went well. He said a similar number of Americans also “believe in Bigfoot.”
