President Trump will deliver his third State of the Union address on Tuesday night, speaking to the country to tout his policies and accomplishments while pushing Congress to act on various legislative priorities.
The prime-time address comes amid ongoing impeachment proceedings, and just a day before the GOP-controlled Senate is expected to acquit the president of allegations he abused his power with his dealings with Ukraine and obstructed Congress.
The speech also comes the same week that voting began in the Democratic presidential primary, with leading candidates vying to take on Trump in November competing in the first-in-the-nation Iowa caucuses. The president is expected to make his case for reelection in his speech Tuesday night.
Trump’s address is scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. ET.
