The White House updated its response to Hurricane Helene, providing $45 million to survivors of the disaster. President Biden’s administration said Friday that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has already helped thousands of Hurricane Helene survivors, including giving $45 million in upfront funding as states in the Southeast deal with power outages, mudslides and damaged roads. Senior deputy press secretary Andrew Bates, in a memo sent to reporters, said that amount includes more than $17 million to North Carolina.
