Trump wants son-in-law to sit in on daily briefings: report

Donald Trump wants his son-in-law Jared Kushner to sit in on his presidential daily briefings once Kushner gets top-secret security clearance, NBC News reported.

{mosads}But anti-nepotism laws could prevent Kushner, the husband of Trump’s daughter Ivanka Trump, from holding an official federal job, NBC News’ Andrea Mitchell reported Tuesday.

CBS News reported on Monday the president-elect was seeking top-secret security clearances for his adult children.

The network said Trump had asked the White House if he could obtain such clearances for his children Ivanka, Eric and Donald Jr., along with Kushner.

But a transition team official told a presidential pool reporter Monday night that the president-elect did not request such a step and said the Trump children have not started filling out paperwork for such clearances.

“That’s not something I’m expecting right now,” the Trump transition official said.

Last week, a report surfaced saying New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie’s removal from leadership of Trump’s transition team came after battles with Kushner.

Kushner’s rocky relationship with Christie and his prominence in the Trump family inner circle helped lead to Christie’s removal, according to a Politico report published last week.

Trump has in the past praised Kushner as a “very successful real estate person.”
