Wisconsin poll: Clinton leads by 10 points

Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton leads her GOP rival, Donald Trump, by 10 points in Wisconsin, according to a new poll that shows her extending her lead in the state.

Clinton is supported by 46 percent of registered voters in the Badger State, according to the Marquette University Law School poll released Wednesday, while Trump has 36 percent support.
{mosads}That’s more than the 6-point lead Clinton held in Marquette’s poll released last month, when she enjoyed a lead of 43 percent to 37 percent.

Clinton holds a 9-point lead when third-party candidates are included, taking 42 percent to Trump’s 33 percent. Libertarian presidential nominee Gary Johnson grabs 10 percent, and Green Party nominee Jill Stein takes 4 percent.

Another 16 percent of registered voters in Wisconsin say they won’t vote for Clinton or Trump. That’s down 2 points from last month, according to tweets from the university sharing details of the poll.

Clinton also holds a huge 15-point lead among likely voters, taking 52 percent to 37 percent for Trump. She held just a 4-point lead with likely voters last month.

Wisconsin has gone for the Democratic nominee in the past seven presidential elections, though it has a Republican governor, Scott Walker.

The latest poll of 805 registered voters and 683 likely voters in Wisconsin was conducted Aug. 4–7 via landlines and cellphones. It has a margin of error of 4.6 points for registered voters and 5 points for likely voters.
