Dylann Roof, a white supremacist found guilty of murdering nine people at a historically black church in Charleston, S.C., told the judge he will not be presenting any evidence or calling witnesses to try to prevent a death sentence, the The Associated Press said Wednesday.

Roof was convicted on 33 federal charges earlier in December and has said he will be acting as his own lawyer during the final stage of his trial.

{mosads}Roof also decided not to allow medical experts to testify with a mental health defense because he believes that psychology is “a Jewish invention.”

“It is a Jewish invention and does nothing but invent diseases and tell people they have problems when they don’t,” Roof wrote in a journal that was retrieved by investigators.

The jury is set to determine whether the 22-year-old Roof should receive the death penalty in January.
