Activists get permit to fly ‘Baby Trump’ blimp over July 4 ‘Salute to Trump’ celebration

The “Baby Trump” blimp that has followed President Trump around the world will fly just blocks from the White House hours before his Fourth of July address.

{mosads}Mike Litterst, a spokesman with the National Park Service, confirmed to Fox 5 this week that feminist anti-war group Code Pink has been granted a permit to fly the notorious balloon during their anti-Trump demonstration.

It is unclear where the ballon be allowed to be set up on the National Mall, the outlet noted.

Code Pink has raised more than $13,000 as of Wednesday to bring the blimp to its “Freedom from Trump” rally on July 4.

The 20-foot, diaper-clad balloon holding a cellphone has become a symbol at various events and rallies across the world since it first debuted during Trump’s visit to London last year.

Most recently, the inflatable ballon, or one of its six clones, was in Orlando, Fla., for Trump’s 2020 reelection campaign kickoff.

The president is set to give a speech from the Lincoln Memorial, including a flyover with military jets, during the Independence Day festivities.

Trump’s participation in the Fourth of July festivities, which are held annually in Washington and draw large crowds to the National Mall, has drawn criticism from some who argued that Trump is making the non-political event about himself and driving up the costs.

“The president is shifting the 4th of July festivities to celebrate his administration,” said Code Pink co-founder Medea Benjamin in the statement earlier this month. “We will bring together people opposed to the pain and suffering caused by this administration, from family separation at the border to supplying weapons used by Saudi Arabia to kill Yemeni children.”
