Trump says US is ‘sending crews’ to help Bahamas after Hurricane Dorian
President Trump said in a tweet on Tuesday that the U.S. was “sending crews” to help the Bahamas after the islands were struck by Hurricane Dorian.
“The Bahamas have been devastated. We are sending crews to help!” he wrote.
The U.S. may be getting a little bit lucky with respect to Hurricane Dorian, but please don’t let down your guard. As it heads up the coast, lots of very bad and unpredictable things can happen! On the other hand, the Bahamas have been devastated. We are sending crews to help!

The U.S. sent a disaster response team to the Bahamas after the hurricane hit the islands, reportedly resulting in the deaths of at least five people, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) said Tuesday.{mosads}
The Disaster Assistance Response Team is working with local authorities, humanitarian organizations and others to give assistance to those impacted by the storm, according to a USAID statement.
The agency has also begun mobilizing supplies, including plastic sheeting, hygiene kits, water buckets, and chainsaws.
“As the world’s humanitarian leader, the U.S. Government remains committed to providing life-saving assistance to people affected by this devastating hurricane,” the statement said. “The U.S. Government is communicating with local authorities and humanitarian partners in The Bahamas to coordinate relief efforts.”
Hurricane Dorian hit the Bahamas this week and peaked as a Category 5 storm.
Bahamas Prime Minister Hubert Minnis said Monday that at least five people died in the Abaco Islands.
The hurricane, which is now a Category 2 storm, might next affect parts of the U.S., including Florida, Georgia and the Carolinas.
