George W. Bush: ‘When Jeb beats Hillary’

Former President George W. Bush joked Thursday that he would still like former President Bill Clinton “when Jeb beats Hillary.”

{mosads}In a clip of an interview with Fox News’s Sean Hannity, set to air Thursday, Bush was asked about a possible 2016 presidential match-up between Jeb Bush and Hillary Clinton.

“It means that Bill and I are going to have to have some interesting things to talk about,” Bush said, before later adding, “Look, I’ll still like him when Jeb beats Hillary.”

Hannity and Bush both laughed. “Are you betting on that?” Hannity said.

“If Jeb runs I think …” Bush replied before stopping himself. “Look, I don’t know if he is going to run, I really don’t. I hope he does because he’d be a great president.”

As Bush does interviews in support of his new book about his father, former President George H.W. Bush, he has repeatedly said his brother Jeb would be a good president but that he doesn’t know if he will run.

George W. Bush and Bill Clinton are known to be friends. Clinton on Wednesday tweeted a photo of himself reading Bush’s new book.

That friendship certainly will not stand in the way of a matchup between Jeb Bush and Hillary Clinton. The former Florida governor has already taken a shot at Clinton, jabbing her comment about businesses not creating jobs during a campaign stop last month.
