Julia Louis-Dreyfus returning to ‘Veep’ following chemotherapy
Julia Louis-Dreyfus is planning to film the the final season of “Veep” in August after having completed chemotherapy treatments, a co-star says.
Actor Matt Walsh told Entertainment Weekly that Louis-Dreyfus finished her chemo and has been participating in table reads for the HBO show’s next season.
Louis-Dreyfus announced on Twitter in September that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer.
“Her prospectives have remained excellent throughout,” Walsh told Entertainment Weekly. “She’s very well loved. She’s a tremendous person.”
The actress on Sunday night won the Screen Actors Guild Award for best actress in a comedy series, and “Veep” won for outstanding comedy series ensemble.
Louis-Dreyfus made history by becoming the most decorated actor in the history of the SAG Awards, having now won nine times, including five awards for her work on “Seinfeld.”
She tweeted on Sunday night following the announcement of her win, saying she wished she could have attended but that it was “pretty fun to watch in my p.j.’s.”

The seventh and final season of “Veep” will begin filming in August and air in 2019, Walsh said.
HBO has not officially confirmed the scheduling, but programming president Casey Bloys told Entertainment Weekly that the big season is “really funny” and they’re waiting for Louis-Dreyfus “to feel well enough to get back to it.”
