Cruz: I don’t intend to legalize any illegal immigrants
During Tuesday’s GOP debate Sen. Ted Cruz (Texas) ruled out granting legal status to any undocumented immigrants.
“I have never supported legalization and I do not intend to support legalization,” said Cruz, when asked directly about his stance by Sen. Marco Rubio (Fla.), as the two contenders sparred over immigration.
{mosads}Cruz has spoken out against amnesty for illegal immigrants, but has previously declined to detail what he would do about undocumented immigrants who had not been charged with crimes.
His answer is the clearest indication of what he would do as president beyond his plan to stop illegal immigration.
