Fired Cruz spokesman votes for former boss

Rick Tyler, the former communications director for Ted Cruz’s presidential campaign, voted for his former boss Saturday despite his firing. 

Tyler shared photos of his Virginia Republican primary ballot on Facebook and Twitter on Saturday morning, teliing friends and followers “I voted for Ted Cruz today!”

Tyler was fired this week after sharing a video of Cruz’s 2016 rival Marco Rubio that falsely alleged he disparaged the Bible. Tyler apologized soon after, but Cruz fired Tyler the next day, saying he was a “good man” who made a “grave error of judgement.”

“It turned out the news story he sent around was false, but I’ll tell you, even if it was true, we are not a campaign that is going to question the faith of another candidate,” said Cruz.
