General Raymond Odierno will be among the mourners giving a eulogy at Beau Biden’s funeral Saturday, according to pool reports.
Odierno joins President Obama and Biden’s siblings, Ashley Biden and Hunter Biden.
Odierno will present the Legion of Merit, reports said. Odierno was Commanding General was Biden was deployed to Iraq.
{mosads}Biden, the son of Vice President Joe Biden, passed away last Saturday at 46 after a battle with brain cancer.
Biden was as attorney general of Delaware from 2007 until earlier this year. He also served in the Delaware Army National Guard, receiving the bronze star. He was thought to be considering a run for governor of Delaware in 2016.
It was revealed earlier this week that Obama would eulogize Biden, culminating a three-day memorial.
Biden’s body lied in honor Thursday at Legislative Hall in the state capitol of Dover, and there was a public viewing at the Wilmington church Friday.
“Beau Biden believed the best of us all,” the president said in a statement last weekend. “For him, and for his family, we swing our lanterns higher.”
The White House set up a virtual condolence book for the Biden family Monday.
