ABBA made the announcement on Instagram on Thursday. “ABBA ARE BACK with ‘Voyage’, a brand new album and revolutionary concert,” the band wrote. “Listen to two brand new songs now and pre-order ‘Voyage’ from the official store for first access to tickets.”
The Swedish pop group — Anni-Frid Lyngstad, Benny Andersson, Björn Ulvaeus and Agnetha Fältskog — whose name is an acronym of their first names, were couples at various points in the group’s career. Ulvaeus and Fältskog had married in 1971, Andersson and Lyngstad married in 1978.
ABBA first made waves after winning the 1974 Eurovision Song Contest with the single “Waterloo.” Over the next several years ABBA toured worldwide and released hits such as “Mamma Mia!,” “Dancing Queen” and “Super Trouper.”
Though Ulvaeus and Fältskog divorced in 1978, the group continued writing and performing together, but Andersson’s and Lyngstad’s divorce in 1981 was another blow to the group. ABBA formally disbanded in 1982.

Now in their 70s, the foursome are excited to reunite. “When we got back together in the studio I had no idea what to expect,” Fältskog said on Instagram. “But Benny’s recording studio is such a friendly and safe environment, and before I knew it I was really enjoying myself! I can hardly believe that finally, the moment has come to share this with the world!”
ABBA’s two new singles — “I Still Have Faith In You” and “Don’t Shut Me Down” — are available online and the new album Voyage is due to be released Nov. 5.
