You’re a mean one, Mr. Grinch.
People are dubbing a thief a true Grinch after a man broke into an Atlanta warehouse and stole thousands of dollars worth of presents meant for needy children this holiday season.
“Sadly, our warehouse was broken into last night in the most aggressive of ways,” the Empty Stocking Fund wrote on Facebook Wednesday. “We have invested in an alarm system to secure the space after multiple break-ins this summer but they just keep getting more creative and aggressive. The loss of goods at this point of the season will be significant. The impact to the families yet to serve even more so. Our hearts are heavy.”
The Empty Stocking Fund is a charity organization that provides gifts and school supplies to children in need in the Atlanta area.

Security footage caught a man forcing his way into the warehouse, and the police are investigating.
“It’s the craziest thing I’ve ever seen. I mean, that’s ambition,” the fund’s executive director, Manda Hunt, told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution of the thief’s effort to break in. “If you put that kind of energy toward good work, imagine what you could accomplish, right?”
The Empty Stocking Fund has since started a fundraiser to raise $25,000 to “get out as many more” gifts as possible before Christmas.
“Around 4 am this morning, the Grinch attempted to steal Christmas by sledge-hammering a giant hole in our warehouse’s cinderblock wall and helping himself to bags and bags of items,” the fundraiser reads. “But, with your help we will not let this horrible Grinch ruin anyone’s Christmas!”
