About one-quarter of voters say that a new federal vaccine mandate issued by the Biden administration will lead to less than 1 million additional people getting the vaccine, a new Hill-HarrisX poll finds.
Twenty-four percent of registered voters in the Sept. 18-19 survey said they think that President Biden’s mandate will lead to less than 1 million more vaccinated people.
Nineteen percent of respondents said they think it will lead to between 1-5 million more shots in arms and 13 percent said it will lead to between 6-10 million more vaccinations.
Nine percent of voters said the new mandates will get between 11-15 million more jabs while another 9 percent said they think it could lead to 16-25 million more getting the vaccine.
Seven percent of respondents said they thought that between 25 and 50 million additional people will get the vaccine due to the mandate while 6 percent said 50 million or more will get the shot.
Thirteen percent said they believed the mandate would lead to no new vaccinations.
Biden announced earlier this month that all private employers with more than 100 employees were to require workers either be vaccinated or have weekly testing. The president also announced that all federal employees were required to be vaccinated.
According to an analysis by Goldman Sachs, Biden’s federal mandate push is expected to lead to 12 million more people getting the coronavirus vaccine.
The Hill-HarrisX survey also found about 20 percent of voters said the coronavirus pandemic will never end.
The most recent Hill-HarrisX poll was conducted online among 959 registered voters from Sept. 18-19. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.2 percentage points.
