Obama, Bill Clinton set to attend fundraiser for Biden in March

Former President Obama and former President Clinton are set to attend a fundraiser in support of President Biden next month in New York.

“Folks — I’ll be in NYC on March 28th to support @JoeBiden. Who’s coming with me?” Obama confirmed on X, formerly known as Twitter.

He included a link to a donation page for Biden’s campaign that teased a chance to attend “an evening with President Joe Biden, President Barack Obama, and President Bill Clinton.”

Bringing the three presidents together could serve as a major fundraising coup for the Biden campaign, especially given Obama’s continued popularity with Democrats.

The Biden campaign entered 2024 with $117 million on hand after raising more than $97 million in the fourth quarter of 2023. But with former President Trump on track to lock up the GOP nomination in a matter of weeks, 2024 is shaping up to be a long and grueling general election campaign.

NBC News first reported earlier Tuesday that the fundraiser could take place at Radio City Music Hall and include a moderated discussion with the three presidents, though details had not been finalized.

Polling in recent weeks has shown Biden trailing Trump by single digits in key swing states, including Georgia, Wisconsin, Arizona and Michigan. Polling out of Pennsylvania, another major battleground, has shown Biden leading the former president in a head-to-head match-up.
