Kimberly Guilfoyle, rumored Spicer replacement, signs long-term Fox News deal

Fox News has signed to a long-term deal a co-host of “The Five” who had been rumored as a possible White House press secretary, the network announced Thursday. 

Kimberly Guilfoyle, a former assistant district attorney in San Francisco and Los Angeles, joined Fox in 2006 and rose to prominence five years later as an original cast member on the roundtable news discussion program “The Five.” 

“Throughout the past decade, Kimberly has served as a popular commentator here at Fox News. She’s a huge asset to The Five and undoubtedly contributed to making the program a notable success,” said network President Suzanne Scott in an announcement. 

Guilfoyle, a former legal analyst on CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360,” said she’s excited to stay at the network.

{mosads}The California native had been rumored as a replacement for White House press secretary Sean Spicer. 

“I’m excited to remain at Fox News Channel, a place I have called home for many years, and to continue my role as co-host of The Five,” Guilfoyle said in a statement. “I very much look forward to what lies ahead.”

In addition to “The Five,” Guilfoyle has filled in for Sean Hannity for his 10 p.m program. 

She also has served as co-host for Fox’s New Year’s Eve special from Times Square for the past two years. 

Fox has recently re-signed several high-profile names in the wake of losses of prime-time hosts Bill O’Reilly, Megyn Kelly and Greta Van Susteren, including 7 p.m. host Martha MacCallum and 5 p.m. co-host Eric Bolling.
