Two JetBlue planes clipped each other early Thursday morning at Boston Logan International Airport.

JetBlue said in a statement an aircraft entering a deicing pad lane at the Boston airport came into contact with another plane on a nearby lane. The airline explained the incident caused damage to one of the plane’s winglets and damage to the other’s tail section.

No injuries were reported, per the airline.

“Both aircraft will be taken out of service for repairs, and JetBlue flight 777 to Las Vegas and JetBlue flight 551 to Orlando will operate on other aircraft,” the company said in a statement. “Safety is JetBlue’s priority, and we will work to determine how and why this incident occurred.”

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said the incident occurred around 6:40 a.m. local time Thursday, noting it happened “in an area of the tarmac that the airline controls.”

The agency confirmed it would investigate the incident.

The FAA announced last year it would be spending millions to reduce near collisions at airports across the country.

The administration defines a runway incursion as “any occurrence at an aerodrome involving the incorrect presence of an aircraft, vehicle or person on the protected area of a surface designated for the landing and take off of aircraft.”

Between October and December, there were 437 runway incursions at airports, according to FAA data.
